Momcozy KleanPal Pro Review: Cleans Well, But Watch Out for This

I bought this baby bottle washer one and a half months ago and have been using it daily since. Here’s what you should know.

The Momcozy KleanPal Pro is the first baby bottle washer from Momcozy, the mom-centric brand known for making easy-to-use breast pumps, bottle warmers, and other baby gear.

Launched in January 2024, the Momcozy KleanPal Pro is an all-in-one baby bottle washer, sterilizer, and dryer. It washes baby bottles, pump parts, and other dishwasher-friendly baby essentials with water and baby-safe detergent tablets; sterilizes them with steam; and keeps them safe and ready to use for up to 72 hours.

It cleans baby bottles with 2,200 Pascals of water pressure and a total of 26 spray jets: 12 directional jets that clean the bottles on the inside and 14 swirling jets that cleanse them on the outside. The jets are arranged between two rotating spray arms — one at the top and one at the bottom — and four spray sticks inside the bottle rack.

Like other baby bottle washers on the market, the Momcozy KleanPal Pro can clean up to four baby bottles or the parts of one breast pump at a time. It uses one detergent tablet and 2.64 quarts (2.5 liters) of water per wash, and drains wastewater through a hose rather than in a tank. (This is one of the standout features of this bottle washer that I’ll get to in a moment.)

The Review in a Minute

My wife and I have been using the Momcozy KleanPal Pro daily for over a month and a half to clean the bottles, pump parts, and nipple shields for feeding our baby boy, and have been very impressed with this small but mighty countertop appliance.

It does a great job of cleaning baby bottles — leaving them spotless and odor-free — and is decent enough at drying. It uses much less water than the dishwasher, though it makes just as much noise, and is about as easy to use for grandparents or the nanny as it is for you.

The feature that keeps baby bottles sterilized for up to 72 hours is a godsend. Although we’ve never had to wait this long, it allows us to go about our day or even travel with our little one over the weekend, then return home to find feeding gear that’s safe and ready to use.

After testing the Momcozy KleanPal Pro for more than 60 uses, I think it’s the best baby bottle washer on the market right now, and, at the time of writing this review, it’s the one I recommend to family and friends.

Where it falls short is in cleaning light, delicate breastfeeding essentials like nipple shields and their containers. Since the water hits them at high pressure and there’s ample space between the upper rack and the lid, such items bounce around all over the place during the wash cycle.

The other major drawback to keep in mind is that, because this baby bottle washer expels wastewater through a hose, it needs to be placed near a sink. Even so, I see these as flaws, not dealbreakers.

Like all other baby bottle washers, purchasing this one means you’ll be locked into buying Momcozy detergent and HEPA filters.

Who This Baby Bottle Washer Is For

Caring for your newborn doesn’t mean you have to spend countless hours hunched over the sink — scrubbing breast milk or baby formula stains from bottles before sterilizing them in the microwave or on the stovetop. You can delegate those tasks to an automated baby bottle washer.

A baby bottle washer is ideal for parents with multiple children managing a large household, as well as for working parents with limited time at home. The Momcozy KleanPal Pro is a particularly good choice for mothers recovering from childbirth, individuals with limited mobility, and grandparents who’ll find it difficult to carry full dirty water tanks around the house.

Its strongest feature is how hands-off it is to operate. Simply add water, let it run, and then use the baby bottles or pump parts as you need them.

Pros & Cons

  • Fits four bottles with all the parts, even green Dr. Brown anti-colic vents.
  • Keeps bottles, teethers, and pump parts sterile for up to 72 hours.
  • Drains through a hose; no need to empty a wastewater tank.
  • Leaves stains from lanolin cream unless you pre-rinse the pump parts.
  • Not great for washing light items like nipple shields and their containers.
  • Must be placed near a sink on either the kitchen or bathroom countertop.

Momcozy KleanPal Pro Review

Looks

★★★★★ (5 stars out of 5)

The Momcozy KleanPal Pro has a sleek, cute look that’s somewhere between a modern and retro kitchen countertop appliance. Unlike other baby bottle washers, it looks like a device you’d actually want to have in your home.

This baby bottle washer’s exterior is white, with sage green accents such as the handle of the lid and the rim of the touchscreen. The lid is translucent and almost glass-like, even though it’s made of thick plastic.

Inside, this baby bottle washer closely resembles a vertical mini dishwasher, featuring a gray interior and an aluminum water grid. This creates a sense of familiarity with the device, even if you are using it for the first time.

Ease of Use

★★★★★ (5 stars out of 5)

The LED timer, which counts down the remaining time for each cycle, is clear and large enough to read, even if you have less-than-perfect vision like I do.

The touchscreen is very responsive. Setting up the cycle is quick and intuitive. I particularly like that the options are labeled with their names instead of with icons. This makes it easier to operate the Momcozy KleanPal Pro, especially when I’m distracted or tired.

Touchscreens with icons can be confusing. You won’t have this problem with Momcozy KleanPal Pro, whose touchscreen has text labels instead. Photo by Dim Nikov / Dad's Picks

Also, I forgot to add water to the tank once or twice, and the Momcozy KleanPal Pro emitted a sound and didn’t start until I filled it up. Clearly, whoever designed this appliance has gone through the adventure of caring for a baby.

Speaking of caring for a baby, who on earth has time to read a manual when your little one’s hangry and crying? That’s the last thing I want to do in moments like these. The quick start guide, which gives key info for using and troubleshooting the appliance, is definitely a great touch:

Loading and unloading baby bottles, rings, nipples, and caps is a breeze thanks to the appliance’s trapezoidal shape and square racks. The racks can be removed to make room for oddly-shaped pump parts.

The baby bottle washer produces a gentle beep each time you take the lid off and put it back on. There is ample space between the lid itself and the bottle parts that go on the upper rack, and I don’t have to worry about bottles or bottle parts shifting out of place.

Lastly, I find it absolutely great that I don’t have to empty a wastewater tank after every wash cycle like I do with the Baby Brezza Bottle Washer Pro, for example. Instead, the wastewater just empties by itself into my sink through the hose.

Baby Bottle Washing

★★★★☆ (4 stars out of 5)

The Momcozy KleanPal Pro is superbly good at cleaning baby bottles.

Of course, it helps to pre-rinse the baby bottles before putting them in the appliance — even a top-of-the-line dishwasher can sometimes struggle with dry, caked-on breast milk or baby formula.

I really like it that I can remove the bottom rack (which normally holds bottles) and the top rack (for bottle parts) to free up room for large, oddly-shaped pump parts. Not every baby bottle washer offers that kind of versatility. As long as I position them correctly, so the water jets spray where needed, those parts come out clean as a whistle.

Still, when it comes to baby bottle washing, this appliance does have a couple of shortcomings worth mentioning.

For one, if you’re washing nipple shields or pump parts with lanolin cream, there will be stains.

I have yet to find a baby bottle washer that can handle lanolin cream. If you’re a mom who breastfeeds, it’s a good idea to pre-rinse pump parts before placing them into the Momcozy KleanPal Pro. Although lanolin cream stains aren’t necessarily unsafe, immaculate feeding gear is always preferable to stained feeding gear.

The second shortcoming of this baby bottle washer is that, ironically, the ample space between the lid and the upper rack where smaller items go can sometimes be a disadvantage.

Why? The high pressure of the water shooting from the jets can make finicky baby-care items bounce around all over the place during the wash cycle.

A photo of a nipple shield container that has moved from its original place to the edge of the top rack mid-wash cycle.
Notice how the nipple shield container on the right has moved from its original position on the top rack due to the water pressure. Photo by Dim Nikov / Dad's Picks

This is a problem, especially when washing nipple shields and their containers, because A) I have to search for the nipple shields after the cycle is done, and B) one container, since they’re made from cheaper plastic, actually broke. So keep that in mind.

Baby Bottle Sterilization

★★★★★ (5 stars out of 5)

Sterilization is the bread and butter of baby-care appliances in this category, and the Momcozy KleanPal Pro does it reliably, just as expected.

During the sterilization cycle, this appliance gradually uses small amounts of water that it turns into steam. The heat from the steam effectively eliminates 99.9% of germs and bacteria through prolonged exposure. (In case you’re wondering exactly how steam sterilization works, the CDC has an excellent explainer on its website.)

Once sterilized, the bottles are safe to feed your baby with. According to the CDC’s guidance, sterilization is particularly important when your baby is younger than 2 months, was born prematurely, or has a weakened immune system.

Even though it’s not strictly necessary after a certain age, I still sterilize bottles whenever I can. Why risk giving my son tummy aches when I can prevent them?

Baby Bottle Drying

★★★☆☆ (3 stars out of 5)

Drying is the weak point of all baby bottle sterilizers. Alas, the Momcozy KleanPal Pro is no exception.

While this is likely to improve in future models of these appliances, for now, thoroughly drying baby bottles and pump parts in such a confined space immediately after washing seems to remain challenging for all baby-care appliance makers, including Momcozy.

The baby bottles and pump parts I wash occasionally come out with a few lingering drops of water. Even when I select the storage feature and leave them in the appliance for several hours or overnight, those drops remain.

This is not a huge problem, of course, but it’s something worth mentioning.

Baby Bottle Storage

★★★★★ (5 stars out of 5)

My favorite feature of the Momcozy KleanPal Pro, by and large, is the storage mode, which keeps washed and sterilized baby bottles and pump parts safe and ready to use for up to 72 hours. It’s a real boon, in my view, because it allows me to use this baby bottle washer on my own terms and schedule — not the other way around.

All I need to do is to select the storage mode option when I’m configuring the device. As long as I’ve done this, it will start drawing air through a HEPA filter when it’s done washing and sterilizing, keeping the items inside sterile and the air dust- and germ-free.

The storage mode is not particularly groundbreaking when you think about it. It’s akin to, say, the scheduling function on your dishwasher or washing machine, but focused on storage instead of scheduling. Still, for baby bottle washers, this is relatively new and not widely available.

Build Quality

★★★★★ (5 stars out of 5)

Look, we dads and moms can be honest with each other: baby bottle washers aren’t meant to last a lifetime. Some can be finicky, others may leak, and a few might display weird errors mid-cycle. In terms of build quality, however, the Momcozy KleanPal Pro fares very well.

The plastic used in the construction of this baby bottle washer is about as high-quality as plastic gets. The touch controls are responsive, and the device operates quietly — more or less — producing noise comparable to that of a dishwasher.

I was most concerned about the drainage hose. My first worry was whether it would leak at the connection to the back of the appliance. My second was whether it would remain in place or detach from the suction cups and cause water to spill everywhere. Neither of my worries was justified.

Noise Level

★★★★☆ (4 stars out of 5)

I do hear this baby bottle washer in action, but it’s also quiet enough not to be irritating.

I used a portable sound meter (with a measuring range of 30–130 dB and an accuracy of ± 1.5 dB) to measure the noise level produced by the Momcozy KleanPal Pro.

This appliance is the loudest during the wash cycle, when the high-pressure jets spray water that splashes against the baby bottles and the interior of the lid. The noise level is at 50-53 dB, about as much as my dishwasher.

The noise level during the wash cycle fluctuates; the splashing comes and goes, with the loudest sounds coming from the 14 swirling jets. The other noisy moment during the wash cycle occurs when the water is being drained.

A photo of Dim Nikov, the editor of Dad's Picks, measuring the noise level produced by a baby bottle washer using a sound meter.
My sound meter measured noise levels of 41–43 dB during the Momcozy KleanPal Pro’s drying cycle.

The sterilization mode operates quietly, and is the most silent setting of this appliance. During the drying and storage cycles, the Momcozy heats air, humming, which produces background noise of 41–43 dB.

The noise during the storage cycle is occasional; it only occurs when the machine draws in and heats air.

Altogether, the Momcozy KleanPal Pro isn’t the quietest appliance on my kitchen countertop, but I don’t mind it.

Cost of Ownership

★★★★☆ (4 stars out of 5)

What I’m about to share holds true for any baby bottle washer — and as a future owner of one, it’s crucial for you to be aware of. Purchasing a baby bottle washer is the beginning, not the end, of your cost-of-ownership expenses.

The Momcozy KleanPal Pro requires Momcozy’s proprietary detergent tablets, at least if you go by the user manual. On the one hand, it makes sense; those tablets have been formulated specifically for this appliance’s wash cycle.

The baby-safe detergent tablets are sold by Momcozy in small boxes that ship to your door. Each box contains four packets of 30 detergent tablets, which makes 120 detergent tablets in total. (They’re available on the brand’s website as well as on Amazon.)

The other recurring expense related to this appliance will be the HEPA air filters. The filter must be replaced every 2-3 months to keep dust, germs, mold, and pollens away from your baby essentials.

With a Dad’s Picks score of 4.4 out of 5, the Momcozy KleanPal Pro is a great choice for parents looking to remove handwashing from their daily list of chores.

As this baby bottle washer disposes of dirty water via a hose, it’s the best option for parents, grandparents, and caretakers with limited mobility or difficulty lifting heavy items.

However, it should be placed near a sink, either in your kitchen or bathroom. If you intend to use it in a bedroom or nursery, you may want to consider other options. In such a case, refer to our guide to the best baby bottle washers.

Why You Can Trust This Review

A video message from Dim Nikov, Dad’s Picks editor

The internet is full of trickery these days. So how do you know you can trust me?

For starters, I bought the Momcozy KleanPal Pro with my own money — and used it daily for cleaning up after feeding my own son, who’s just over one and a half months old at the time of writing. Every word in this review comes from hands-on testing and first-hand experience.

Secondly, I created Dad’s Picks to help other dads and moms like you in selecting the best baby gear, after experiencing myself the challenges of having to sift through a thousand fake reviews and inferior products. It ain’t pretty out there, folks; you know very well what I’m talking about.

Last but not least, I have a methodology for reviewing baby bottle washers, which I’ve applied to make this review as objective as I can make it. The methodology looks at each bottle washer’s looks, ease of use, washing, sterilization, drying, and storage features, as well as its build quality and maintenance requirements.

Anywho, thank you for reading this far and hope you found this review helpful. I wish you all the best.

From my family to yours, with love and appreciation.

It wasn’t until I became a dad that I realized just how little helpful information is out there for parents. After spending countless hours researching products and wasting money on baby gear that didn't deliver, I decided enough was enough: I created Dad's Picks to give other dads (and moms) the advice I wish someone had shared with me in the first place.
